Artist Bio
While sitting in the Rothko Room at the Phillips Gallery in Washington DC 23 years ago, I knew it was time to start painting. My experience with color, composition, and texture was totally funneled into my jewelry design business for 25years. Having a big blank canvas to express me was daunting but I enjoy the challenge. I have been painting now since 2000. I found my abstract painting teacher at The Yellow Barn in Maryland. Helen Corning was a no-nonsense kind of woman with a very simple but profound painting style. I was her student for 10 years. After Helen retired I took many abstract, composition, and specialty classes to augment my style of abstraction. That passion to learn more, and discover more is still fresh as I seek new ways to express myself through paint.
