Artist Bio

Caroline Avent is a Denver-based artist originally from Newnan, Georgia, whose work is driven by a lifelong love of adventure, travel, and capturing the fleeting moments that reveal the true beauty of life. She began oil painting at the age of eight, instinctively drawn to color as a way of understanding the world. She later studied Studio Art at Washington & Lee University and earned a Studio Art minor from the University of Alabama.

For over fifteen years, Avent set aside her creative practice while building a successful corporate career. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for movement, cultural immersion, and the unscripted details of daily life that are often forgotten: a shared glance, a market at dawn, light shifting across a surface. Painting across Italy has a profoundly impactful experience that cannot be contained only on a canvas.

In less than a year, Avent’s work has gained significant momentum. Her piece Abuela appeared on a Times Square jumbotron during New York City’s “No Kings” protest. She has exhibited in 17 shows across 12 galleries, participated in Denver’s First Friday Art Walk seven times, received a full grant to the Art Students League of Denver, sold work on the opening night of her debut exhibition, and now serves on the board of Art Contained del Sol.

Avent’s work is rooted in radical authenticity and unapologetic vulnerability—transforming lived experience into color, movement, and meaning. Her paintings invite viewers to slow down, remain curious, and rediscover the extraordinary hidden within ordinary moments.
