Artist Statement
Although Emma Liza has been reading, I have just caught her, as she looks up, suddenly disturbed from the story she has been so absorbed in, and engages the viewer in full eye contact, - this makes for a dramatic composition. She is very much the Modern Woman, in full control of all she surveys.
