Artist Bio

A self-taught artist, Logan Benson grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He joined the Army in 2004 after his first year of college at the University of Minnesota in Duluth. His unit was to be deployed to Iraq in 2010, where he served as a Route Clearance Truck Commander responsible for finding and destroying improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Logan turned to art later in life as a way to process memories from his time in Iraq. His artwork pays homage to the experience of veterans by depicting scenes that actually happened shown from the point of view of real American service-members. As he says it, "There is plenty of military-themed artwork that looks like it came out of a Rambo movie. I want my pieces to reflect real experiences of US service members."

Logan currently lives in Minnesota with his wife and two bulldogs. He paints both abstract art and service-member POV scenes from war.
