Artist Bio
I completed my first painting when I was in elementary school, inspired to become an artist by a fervent interest in street art and the works of Vincent Van Gogh. In high school, I established a regular painting practice where I began to develop my work and concentration. I graduated from La Salle Academy in Providence, RI in 2013, and attended Trinity College with the intention of studying creative writing and fine arts. At Trinity, I was the only studio arts minor to be asked by the fine arts department to complete a senior thesis in oil painting. That spring I exhibited my thesis Anonymous at the Broad Street Gallery in Hartford, Connecticut, and was awarded the Ann C. Herman Prize for Painting. After graduating, I started a creative career in advertising in New York City as a copywriter and art director, while continuing to work as a practicing artist.
