Artist Bio
When Debbie is traveling, discovering new places, meeting new people, and making memories, she is happiest. Ask anyone who knows her: photography is a crucial component of the experience.
Debbie is an abstract and landscape photographer. Over the years, Debbie has developed a talent for capturing original images of commonplace items such as water, sand, and flowers. The images are a palette of colors and patterns that resemble an abstract painting.
When a biology lecturer in college taught Debbie the fundamentals of photography and darkroom procedures, Debbie's passion for photography was born. She attended a couple of photography classes and soon started taking pictures of nature both outside and under a microscope.
Debbie kept honing her skills mostly via practice and a few more lessons, the most significant of which was a workshop at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. Debbie discovered there how to take her time, explore the macro world, and find her voice.
Debbie's work has won first-place awards in photography and visual art contests and has been juried into art exhibitions. Her work is displayed in residential, healthcare, corporate settings, and private collections.
Debbie beautifully depicts that fleeting moment when the ordinary becomes extraordinary and when the real appears surreal.
