Artist Bio
Yanhua Feng is a Chinese-born contemporary artist who works in California, Vancouver, and Beijing. Trained at the Central Academy of Arts and Design, she began her career in design, contributing to major national exhibitions and cultural commissions in China. After relocating to Canada and later the U.S., she returned fully to painting.
Feng's work navigates the space between abstraction and figuration, drawing on a hybrid visual language shaped by her cross-cultural experiences. With a bold yet restrained palette, she constructs rhythmic, layered surfaces that suggest plants, limbs, or textiles without resolving into literal form. Her paintings embody a tension between chaos and order, rooted in themes of memory, femininity, and transformation.
