Colleen Moore Phillips

Hello, my name is Colleen Moore-Phillips and I am a contemporary mixed media artist in Boise, Idaho. I experiment with a large range of conventional and unconventional materials such as acrylics, wire, metal parts, stamps, stencils, drawings, and more. I find it very enjoyable and challenging to combine mixed materials to create a finished work of art. Although the manipulation of color and design is rewarding in itself, it is only a means to an end, a framework to portray and explore life, the human psyche, our world, and animals in all their quirkiness and glory. Life is a stage, that portrays psychological complexity and our place in the world while retaining the individual uniqueness we all possess. If someone were to ask me what I feel it takes for me to be a successful artist, I would have to answer that I want my art to at least be thought-provoking and instill a sense of mystery and wonder in the viewer.
