Artist Bio
Precious Burger is a mixed media artist based in Fairfax, VA, renowned for her vibrant, intuitive works that explore resilience, transformation, and human connection. Working from her "treehouse-like" studio, she infuses her art with a sense of wonder and natural beauty.
After a 30-year career as an elementary art educator, Precious transitioned to professional artistry, embracing her creative calling with renewed passion. Her teaching background informs her practice, emphasizing process over product and the joy of creative discovery.
Precious’s work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions throughout the DC Metro area, including “Calling All Angels” and “A Perfect Duo: Two Artists’ Perspective of the World,” a joint show with her husband at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax Gallery in 2020 and 2023. She is represented by ArtRewards in Norway and is a featured artist with the Circle Foundation for the Arts. Her art has appeared in magazines such as Novum Artis, Artistonish, and Gallerium, and she is a member of the King Street Collective in Leesburg, VA. Precious also serves as an Artist in Residence at Palette 22 in Shirlington, VA.
Committed to growth, Precious completed the Creative Visionary Program by Art2Life's Nicholas Wilton in 2024 and continues her artistic evolution through the Art2Life Academy. She is also a member of the Vienna Arts Society and Falls Church Arts Association.
Beyond her studio practice, Precious facilitates art experiences for adults, inspiring others to recognize their creative potential and find healing through artistic expression. She also publishes a weekly newsletter, “Joyful Expressions.” When not creating, Precious enjoys spending time at the beach and wineries with her husband, Todd, where they often create art together.
