Artist Bio
Elena Manolkova (b. 1977, Bulgaria) is a contemporary abstract cubist artist whose work explores the emotional, psychological, and relational dimensions of human experience through a bold and structured visual language. Her multidisciplinary background as an award-winning fashion designer, official stylist of the Bulgarian Chess Federation, and a graduate interior designer gives her an exceptional sense of composition, rhythm, and spatial balance, enabling paintings that are visually striking and conceptually rich.
Manolkova’s art functions as a constructed narrative rather than a purely visual object. Through deconstruction and reassembly of form, she examines inner states, unspoken tensions, and emotional memory. Faces, figures, and symbolic structures appear fragmented yet intentional, creating a dialogue between silence and intensity, vulnerability and strength.
In early 2025, she presented two defining collections. The Silent Faces explores concealed emotions and identities, while The Charcoal Pulse emphasizes movement and emotional rhythm through mixed media, charcoal, and acrylic, offering raw, expressive energy. Later that year, she introduced Remember: These People Love, a deeply intimate series reflecting memory, human connection, and the sustaining power of love. The collection combines abstraction with subtle emotional narrative, inviting viewers into a shared space of reflection and tenderness.
Notable works such as The Sentinels embody awareness, protection, and vigilance. In a short period, Manolkova’s work gained international recognition, with invitations from galleries worldwide.
In 2025, she became the first Bulgarian artist featured in ARTEOMASTERPIECES and ARTEOMAGAZINE, and ten of her works were displayed on a large digital screen in Times Square, New York, reaching a global audience.
Elena Manolkova continues to develop new limited edition collections, steadily defining a distinctive, internationally recognized voice. Her art is not created merely to be observed.
It speaks.
