Artist Bio
Brad Litwin’s career has taken a non-linear path through craft, engineering, manufacturing, multimedia production, music, and the fine arts. Primarily self-taught, he has been making machinery art, of one kind or another, for over thirty-five years. With his work establishing a global audience, through both media and web-based exposure, he has supported himself working both for industry, and sales of his kinetic sculptures, giving lectures and workshops on the intersection of art and technology, and as a consultant to large-scale arts projects.
Beginning with model-making as a child, and then teaching himself guitar-making as a teenager, Litwin has always asserted his destiny as an unconventional independent. That has included the forging of a non-traditional career path, succeeding in several professions, while relying solely on an adaptive skill set, and experiential knowledge acquired through a continuing practice of self-directed, conscious observation, and synthesis.
His practice includes: Kinetic Sculpture Design & Fabrication, Multimedia Production, Musical Performance, Machine Engineering, Graphic Design, Illustration, 2D and 3D Animation, Interactive Design, Still Photography, Video Production, Editing, Script and Treatment Writing, Special Effects, Set Design, Audio and Foley Synthesis, Technical Illustration, and Cartooning.
