Artist Bio
Raised in Manhattan by an American-born mother and a Venetian father, Vivian Cavalieri grew up speaking English and Italian and spending childhood summers in Venice. Believing she lacked artistic talent because she could not draw or paint well, she decided after graduating from Harvard with a BA in Fine Arts to enter the NYU School of Law. She spent 20 years representing non-profits through firms in New York and DC. She designed necklaces for the next ten years and, five years ago, began using necklace segments in conceptual assemblages. A lifetime art lover, she is self-taught, and her palette and style are deeply influenced by her Venetian heritage. She began marketing her assemblages in July 2022. They have since been included in over 30 juried exhibitions (in-person and virtual). Six are touring with the “Woven” exhibit that opened at the Sasse Museum in Los Angeles and travels to France and Ireland later this year.
