Artist Bio
I was born in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and grew up in Michigan. I earned master’s degrees from Northwestern University and Yale University, and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Iowa and Michigan State University, where I graduated as a member of the Honors College. I also pursued graduate studies at the University of Chicago and the University of Michigan and completed the Study Asia-Teach Asia Summer Program at Kalamazoo College. One summer, I studied organic chemistry at DePaul University and was the best student in the class. At these universities, I was an excellent student and became a member of many honor societies. When I am not creating art, I enjoy playing musical instruments, studying science and engineering, learning new languages, and writing poetry. My poems have been published in several literary journals.
