Artist Bio
Liv Amiri is an eighteen-year-old author, poet, artist, and activist. She is currently acting as the submissions coordinator and literary editor for Poetry4Progress, a poetry and art magazine and social justice non-profit. She has been previously recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her poems and creative essays, as well as the Beyond Words Literary Magazine. Liv is also a resident columnist for Story Monsters Ink, a publication for students, teachers, and parents that is centered on education and literacy topics. Liv is also a script-reading intern for Stampede Ventures. In the realm of publication, Liv is currently drafting a collection of poetry titled Sleepwalkers Like the Sun, to be published next year. Her love for writing and activism carries over to her clubs at school. Through a Banned Books Club that she heads, Liv champions literary freedoms by creating a space where students can explore issues such as censorship and the suppression of educational resources and diverse themes in the literary and publishing world. In the future is planning to explore new styles and genres of writing, and she hopes that ultimately her work will influence positive change in the world.
