Artist Bio
Anna Thomason is an interdisciplinary artist and musician. She was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where her passion for the arts was first developed by drawing with her father and being a part of local music groups in church and school. She studied French horn at Indiana University and received and BA in music performance in 2013. After graduating she decided to put music on the back burner and focus on developing her skills as a fine arts painter over the next several years. Anna works in all paint mediums but her current works are focused in gauche and watercolor. Her strong desire to paint came from a need to work through stress in life, ultimately becoming a process of receiving information through a picture thought form and using that to focus the mind to reveal hidden truths and solutions within. Over the years she has worked to find a balance between creating art and music and has found the two practices play off one another in a very unique way in her life. She currently lives in the Chicago area and works as a freelance artist and music teacher.
