Inge Prins van Wijngaarden – Sustainable Art in Motion

Inge Prins van Wijngaarden (1979) is a Dutch artist whose work merges creativity with sustainability. Using recycled corrugated cardboard as her primary medium, she transforms discarded materials into vibrant, abstract masterpieces. Her large-scale artworks, reaching up to 2×2 meters, demonstrate a unique technique that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern eco-conscious art practices.

Her series LandscapING draws inspiration from the landscape architecture of Zocher, who introduced the English garden style to the Netherlands in the 18th century. By translating these design principles into layered compositions of recycled cardboard, she explores the delicate balance between human intervention and nature.

Through her work, Prins van Wijngaarden reflects on themes of time, materiality, and environmental responsibility. Her abstract landscapes invite viewers to explore, interpret, and engage with the textures and depth of her pieces. Sustainability is at the heart of her artistic practice—every artwork is not only a tribute to nature but also a statement on the potential of recycled materials in contemporary art.
