Artist Bio

I am practicing abstract art and folk art from Bangladesh, with some modern touches. I was born and raised in Bangladesh. I studied in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. I have learned to sing. My father wanted me to become a singer. But I always wanted to become an artist. I was very interested in sports and drawing from my childhood.

My family has a lot of encouragement and contribution to my life and work. I grew up in a close-knit cultural family. Which has helped me a lot to pursue my dream of becoming an artist. My aunt, Mother, and Uncle have always been my inspiration. They have always supported me from the side. My husband is an American citizen. He has been living in America for 18 years.

In 2018, my younger sister suddenly left this world at the age of 17. A few months later, in 2019, I and my older daughter came to America through my husband. Soon after arriving in America, COVID-19 started. My younger daughter was born during that pandemic. After that, my mother was diagnosed with Cancer. All of a sudden! My younger sister's passing, my mother's cancer, and a new country alone, it was a very difficult and depressive time for a mother of two daughters. That's when I started doing art, many years later. The bad situation transformed me into a professional artist. At that time, I used to draw or paint for my own peace of mind.

In 2024, my professional art journey began at the Gainesville Fine Arts Association, Florida, with the support of my two daughters and husband. Having gone through ups and downs as an artist, it would not have been easy if my husband had not been by my side. There is no end to learning art, I want to learn more. Achieving something in life through art is a big dream of mine.
