Artist Bio
Raised in London and New Jersey, Gabriella Rudy is a self-taught artist whose practice explores the relationship between emotion, experience, and perception.
Shortly after her accident, Rudy initiated and led an art therapy program for underprivileged children, with the hopes of providing a cathartic outlet for emotional expression. She has exhibited her work in Washington, DC, and volunteered for Free Arts NYC, where she mentored high-school-aged artists in underserved communities.
At age 18, she was involved in an Amtrak train derailment and suffered a traumatic brain injury, which strongly influenced her fascination with how prior experiences influence our perception of reality.
