Stephanie Rivera-Ortiz

Artist Bio

Stephanie Rivera-Ortiz (Arecibo, Puerto Rico, 1992 - ) is an educator and self-taught artist with additional training from the School of Plastic Arts and Design of Puerto Rico. Her work focuses on art as a tool for healing and social transformation, supported by certifications in The Healing and Education through the Arts (2018), International Medical Corps: Psychological First Aid (2020), and a Diploma in Mindfulness from the Mexican Institute of Mindfulness (2024).

For over a decade, she worked as an educator and program manager at the Cortés Foundation in Puerto Rico, leading cultural and educational initiatives for communities. Currently, she facilitates workshops in community spaces such as the Mutual Support Center in Caguas (CAM), integrating art with collaborative learning methodologies.

She has participated in group exhibitions such as Lapses (2024) at Galería La Lineal and Quinto Orden: Primera Luz (2024) at Galería Me.seum. In 2023, his work The Twelfth of Never won an award in the Quinto Orden's “Cuando el Mar sea Redondo” competition.

He also directs Ojalai, a creative venture dedicated to producing unique pieces in Japanese paper and cardboard, fusing material experimentation and aesthetic sensibility.
