Lynn Schwebach
Artist Bio
I am an oil and watercolor painter based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I work across abstraction and realism, often combining the two to explore emotional complexity.
I began my professional life as a journalist before turning to photography, where I developed a deep appreciation for visual storytelling. This interplay of image and narrative led me to pursue formal training in drawing and painting, including university study and, more recently, an intensive academic drawing program at the REAL Art Academy in Denver. Working at the intersection of emotion and perception, I create artworks that explore liminal states of being. I am drawn to spaces between opposites—joy and sadness, confusion and clarity, stillness and motion—where tension gives rise to meaning.
In addition to painting, I write and publish short stories in literary journals, continuing my exploration of narrative across disciplines.
I have exhibited in galleries and juried shows across the United States. My work has been featured in Cockatoo (Thames & Hudson), and I have designed two book covers for self-published authors.
