Artist Bio

Katrina Niswander is an internationally exhibiting and collected fine artist, interior designer, and life coach working out of Toledo, Ohio in the USA. Her works have been highlighted in numerous blogs and publications such as Create Magazine, Photo Trouvée Magazine, Women United Publications, Art Seen Magazine, Visionary Art Collective and BCAN Arts. She has a fascination with the feeling of home, what we choose to surround ourselves with and what we leave behind. She explores the complexities of time, memory, nostalgia, and loss through her mixed media portraits and paintings on found photographs. Fuzzy black and white snippets of time transform through her intuitive practice of adding graphic color as she attempts to wrap her head around the complexities of time, memory, nostalgia, and loss in a playful way. Her mixed media paintings are a collaboration between past and present that manufactures new memories for us to share. She expands on that artist calling through her design and coaching work. Her approach emphasizes the transformative power of art, design, and mindful living practices as forms of self-care, encouraging individuals to embrace these tools to cultivate a more aesthetically pleasing, imaginative, and fulfilling existence.
