Hugh Rogovy

Artist Bio

Hugh Rogovy has always been a late bloomer.

A firm believer in the liberal arts, Hugh graduated with a philosophy degree from a major Midwestern university. He spent the following year traveling, including seven months in Europe working odd jobs while studying turn-of-the-century paintings in the major museums of London, Paris, Florence, and Rome.

Over many years, Hugh assembled a significant art collection featuring works by masters including Picasso, Derain, Lhote, Kisling, Manguin, and Luce, among others. This collection became another vital avenue of artistic study and inspiration

Drawing from Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and Modernism, he now divides his time between New York City and Mougins, France—a village long celebrated for its artistic community.
