Hubert Endl

Artist Bio

Hubert Endl’s photography began at seventeen, with roll film and long hours in the darkroom. Life then took him down a different professional path for nearly four decades, and photography stayed a quiet companion in the form of holiday snapshots.

Since retiring, he has returned to the craft with full commitment, devoting himself to Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). By moving the camera during the exposure, he lets familiar places dissolve into light, colour, and mood.

His history with Canon reaches back to the 1970s and the legendary AE-1. Today he works with the mirrorless EOS R7 and R6 Mark II, valuing the craft of the past and the freedom of modern technology alike.
