Claudette Allosio
Artist Bio
Claudette Allosio is a French contemporary artist whose work explores the relationships between color, light, matter, and movement. Moving between abstraction and subtle references to the natural world, her artistic vision reveals a universe in which forms evolve, interact, and dissolve into vibrant chromatic spaces.
After many years of working with acrylics and watercolors, she discovered soft pastels in 2006. This medium became central to her artistic expression, while acrylic painting and mixed media continued to enrich her creative practice through textures, layered surfaces, and collage.
Her distinctive approach combines carefully structured compositions with intuitive artistic freedom. Inspired by the golden ratio, spirals, and underlying geometric principles, she creates invisible frameworks that guide the viewer's eye while allowing organic forms and colors to unfold naturally.
Her paintings explore the delicate transitions between clarity and dissolution, tension and harmony, movement and stillness. Through subtle contrasts, luminous colors, and dynamic compositions, each artwork becomes an invitation to experience emotion beyond recognizable forms.
Since 1995, her work has been exhibited in France and internationally, across Europe, China, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, and the United States.
Throughout her artistic career, she has received numerous distinctions, including the Vermeil Medal from the French Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters in Paris in 2026.
As co-founder and president of Pastel en Dauphiné, she is also deeply committed to promoting contemporary pastel painting and sharing her artistic knowledge.
Working through evolving series, Allosio continues to investigate the invisible structures of visual expression, transforming color, form, and light into a deeply personal artistic language.
“Color is the enthusiasm of life. Form reveals the invisible.”
