Basha Ruth Nelson

Artist Bio

Sculptor and installation artist Basha Ruth Nelson received her Master of Arts degree from New York University. Her sculptures and works on paper are exhibited in the United States and abroad, and are held in private collections.

Her works in public spaces include: Hudson Valley Museum of Contemporary Art (HVMOCA), Riverfront Green Park, Peekskill, New York; Hammond Museum, North Salem, New York; Brooklyn Art Library, Brooklyn, New York; Coral Springs Museum and Cultural Center, Coral Springs, Florida; New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, New York, New York; Woodstock Artists Association and Museum (WAAM), Woodstock, New York; Woodstock Historical Society, Woodstock, New York; United States Embassy, Nassau, Bahamas.

Her solo Exhibitions include: Hudson Valley Museum of Contemporary Art (HVMOCA), Peekskill, New York; The Project Space at Julio Valdez Studio, New York, New York; Noho Gallery, New York, New York; Manhattanville College, Purchase, New York; Pritzker Studio and Gallery, Highland, New York; Green County Council on the Arts, Catskill, New York.

Basha was awarded the Lorenzo Il Magnifico Award for Sculpture, Biennale, Florence, Italy; Welfred McGibbon  Award, Norton Gallery and Museum of the Palm Beaches, Palm Beach, Florida.

She was featured in the New Art International; Gallery Guide; Guild Sourcebooks Architectural and Interior Art 20-22, numerous local and international newspapers and magazines.
