Ashlyn Murphey
Artist Bio
Ashlyn Murphey is an editorial and documentary lifestyle photographer based in the Ann Arbor and Detroit area. She grew up and lives in southeast Michigan. She is a graduate of Washtenaw Community College (AS | Photographic Technology, 2021) and the College for Creative Studies (BFA | Photography, 2025). Ashlyn is the recipient of a gold medal in the SkillsUSA state photography competition in Michigan and a bronze medal in the national photography competition.
Ashlyn’s artistic work explores familial relationships, femininity, and nature. In 2023, Ashlyn created her book I was Just Like You, and continues to create work to be published in the documentary style. Ashlyn photographs digitally and analogously and works in mixed media.
