Artist Bio
As a woman living in exile, my artwork is a reflection of the profound impact of separation from my homeland and loved ones. Each painting is imbued with the essence of missed family gatherings, moments that resonate deeply within me despite the physical distance. These emotions, though bittersweet, serve as the driving force for my creative process. In my most recent series, 'Missing Homeland,' each brushstroke tells a story of tradition and heritage, echoing the rich colors and textures of these ancient textiles. I am bringing to life the essence of landscapes long past, inviting you to explore the world of tradition meeting abstract art My work also delves into the unique perspectives and experiences of women within the diaspora. I aim to capture the strength, resilience, and grace of women who, like me, have navigated the complexities of identity and belonging in foreign lands.
The Iranian diaspora numbered 4,037,258 and continues to increase. I feel it's my calling to capture the essence of the nostalgia within this diaspora, all the while yearning for a return to the homeland.
