Aimee George

Artist Bio

Aimee George is an artist and educator native to the Shenandoah Valley. Along with teaching art at James Madison University, she has taught at the University of Mary Washington, Shenandoah University, Blue Ridge Community College, and Northern Virginia Community College. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree with a concentration in photography from James Madison University and a BFA from Shepherd University.

She specializes in Alternative and Historic photographic processes and Black & White traditional film photography. Her work and teachings also expand through digital photography, digital & film videography, printmaking, and foundations of art. She continues her research and practice in sustainable organic, plant-based photography processes.

She is also a yoga teacher and an Ayurvedic counselor and loves to include these practices and research in her artworks and teachings. She owns Studio Silver in Edinburg, Virginia– a creative and healing community space comprising Art, Gallery, Yoga, Ayurveda, Integrative Energy Medicine, Music, Studio space, and unique merchandise. You can also find her teaching yoga and various art workshops with Shenandoah County Parks & Recreation located at the WAC in Woodstock, Virginia.
