My husband, a lover of energy drinks, often left empty cans behind. Instead of discarding them, I searched for a way to give these overlooked objects new life, which led to the creation of what I call “can decoration art.”

The process is challenging. Each can must be carefully cut into small pieces and assembled one by one. Even more demanding is imagining and designing each section so that every detail has its own unique character while still maintaining harmony in color, despite the limited patterns and shades available on the cans.

I am grateful to have exhibited my work at several art events, including the Art Exhibition in Pasadena (February 2025), the 58th Annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition (June 2025), and the 1st Thai Community of Fine Art Exhibition in Thai Town, Los Angeles (August 2025).

One of my artworks was selected to be featured in the Canadian art magazine Artistonish (October 2025), and another artwork was showcased in the Canadian online exhibition Unity 2025, organized by Gallerium.art (November 2025). I am also honored to have been selected as one of the artists for the Biafarin Awards 2025, held in December 2025.

The greatest joy comes from designing intricate details and hearing viewers say they never imagined cans could become such unique artworks. It fills me with great pride and happiness.

I have always drawn inspiration from the dynamic visual forces of nature and my surroundings. My artwork reflects the beauty and romance of the world around me, capturing my inner emotions, memories, and history. Whether it is a poem, a song, a heartwarming story, or a breathtaking view, I infuse each with vibrant colors and brushstrokes drawn from my memories and imagination. I strive to convey the physical and emotional beauty of the world through my art. My goal is to create evocative abstract paintings that explore the potential of color and form to evoke sensations of energy, emotion, and authenticity.

I am an artist based in Malibu, California.

My paintings are recordings of humble attempts to “look inward.” This process seems to be less of a clinical evaluation and more of a spiritual search. My work is the product of reflecting upon the blessings, joys, sorrows, and losses I have experienced over a lifetime. I try to use color, texture, line, and form as vehicles for the expression of my feelings and emotions.

I believe that my work blurs the lines between representational and abstract art. It delves into a space between the real world and a “mystical-magical” dream-like realm. Working mostly with acrylics on canvas, I try to employ kinetic forms, dynamic colors, and heavy texturing in my art. My hope is that those who view my paintings will be “drawn in” to analyzing, empathizing, and evoking their own feelings and emotions.

This solo show entitled “MAGICAL FLOWERS / MYSTICAL TREES” comes before the 9th anniversary of my beloved wife, Barbara’s passing. Barbara loved working in the garden; and she treasured the blessings of flowers, trees, and plants. She thought of a garden as a “sacred place” and she found great peace there.

Why are flowers “magical?” Flowers are one of nature’s great gifts. Even if a person is having a bad day, the sight of a beautiful bouquet or a field of flowers can bring a smile to a person’s face and perhaps a little joy. Flowers bring bright colors to the world, but they are very fragile. We must learn to appreciate the blessing of flowers while they are in bloom. On the other hand, trees tend to be very sturdy and resilient. They are “here” before we were born, and it is likely they will be “here” long after we are gone. There are seasons when trees are in bloom, and seasons when they are barren. But trees “endure.” For me, their roots grow deep into the earth; and this represents our ancestors, heritage, and traditions. Their branches and foliage represent future generations, and continual growth and change. These enduring qualities make trees “mystical” and perhaps “spiritual.”

I would like to dedicate this show to honor Barbara’s memory, and I would like to thank HMVC GALLERY NEW YORK for giving me this wonderful opportunity to exhibit my work.

So many things I think about when I look far away. Things I know, things I wonder, things I’d like to say.

After 20 wonderful years of painting, I decided that it was a perfect time to explore different landscapes. After months of researching different regions, I settled on Nara Park Japan. I found the history and landscapes to be intoxicating.

My artwork is a direct reflection of the different seasons of the park. I like to work in acrylics on canvas to enhance all the emotions and colors that Nara has to offer. I use bright or muted colors to communicate the magic and essence of the ever-changing seasons. Even as I branch out to other mediums or subject matters, I’m always tempted to come back to Nara Park.

If a viewer stops for just a moment to reflect on a piece I have created and feels emotion from the thousands of colors captured on canvas that reflect the different seasons, then I have succeeded in my work.

As a surreal portrait artist, I use watercolor to create paintings that merge symbols and vibrant colors, inviting you into a new world filled with light and life. Through these elements, I communicate universal stories that resonate within your subconscious, connecting you with the divine and the eternal. My art offers an alternative view of the world that inspires you to explore more profound levels of consciousness and rediscover human divinity.

The female figure, central in my works, symbolizes life, maternity, creativity, resilience, and love. She represents Mother Earth, embodying love and respect for everything around us, including nature and the urban environment, which deserve our care to create a more loving and just world.

My colors convey energy and emotion, utilizing a mix of cool and warm tones to symbolize the connection between heaven and earth. They evoke emotions and reflect the human experience. The eyes symbolize our window to the world and the ability to perceive truths beyond the visible.

Through my series of paintings on “urban art,” I seek to share inspirational phrases that invite reflection and connect us with our true essence, reminding us of the immense potential we all carry within.

Through my art, I aim to capture the beauty of the universe and the human experience, prompting reflection on our interaction with the environment and the importance of preserving the natural and cultural beauty surrounding us.

I am a Contemporary Hip “Pop” Artist who just happens to be on the Autistic Spectrum. My artwork focuses on the fact that everyone is beautiful regardless of race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. The bold colors I use represent the way I see the world. Subodh is a diversified artist who enjoys telling stories through her artwork, whether it is through landscape, flowers, or abstract art. Her art is a fusion of Eastern symbolism and Western composition, influenced by 16th and 17th century Rajasthani and Mogul art, and accented by poetry, passages, and phrases in Hindi, Sanskrit, and English. She admires Georgia O’Keeffe for her floral influence, and Frida Kahlo for her courage. Whether it is the serene beauty of nature, her spirituality, or the current political climate, she finds inspiration. Having a life shared between India and America, she sees the beautiful similarities, like love which transcends all borders. Highly individual in her style, her works are described as emotional, mysterious, personal, spiritual, and humorous.

I practice art inspired by Mithila or Madhubani folk art from India. I paint on canvas, paper, cloth, wood, ceramic, terracotta, glass, aluminum, along with murals on walls, ceilings, floors, and 3D installations. Even digital paintings for an even wider reach. I have evolved a unique style of art with an amalgamation of traditional motifs of ancient folk art with modern contemporary themes and tools with global appeal.

Mithila Artform is famous for the details in the paintings in a flat two-dimensional perspective with no shading or overlapping. Taking it to the next level, I draw inspiration for my art from my experience and surroundings. I visualize objects and situations in perspective to create the symbolic motifs and designs that make my art unique and distinct. Mithila paintings use natural and bright colors with symbolic distinct features, which I never hesitate to experiment with while conserving the essence of the art form. While a set of my paintings is inspired by the colors in the artform, mostly primary colors, the other set is mostly black and white or subtle use of a few colors in line work, also inspired by the artform. Paints range from various contemporary commercial paints to natural vegetable paints used with brush or dip nibs. I like to work mostly freehand without using any stencils or pattern tools on my projects.

I have learned through observation and everyday experiments. During research and production, new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work. So, every piece that I create has a story to tell based on the research and its process of development
