Cher Pruys was born in Regina. Over the years she lived in many places including Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Fort Frances, settling into her present home in Devlin, on the banks of the Rainy River with her husband Mark, 4 dogs, and 2 cats.

By age three, Cher was seldom found without a drawing tool in hand. She worked in pencil, charcoal, and ink over the years, until, she picked up a paintbrush at the age of 35. Beginning with oil paints, she found her chosen mediums in acrylic, watercolor, and gouache.

Although self-taught, her dedication and talent have seen her work juried into 463 International exhibits, as well as exhibits in numerous non-juried shows. She has won 718 awards for her work in the International Juried Exhibits.

Her work has graced the covers of 3 books, and 36 magazines, including The Best Of Acrylic Fall 2021, the cover of the May 2022 Arabella Magazine, #20 Hyperrealism Magazine with “Girls Girls Girls”, & #21 with “The Young Cowboy”, & the latest, Artists & Illustrators March 2024. She has been featured in over 350 International publications. Cher’s works have found a permanent home in private and public collections worldwide.

I am a self-taught artist working in water-based mediums, mainly acrylic, but also at times gouache and watercolor. I am a hyperrealism painter fascinated by the world around me. I am very drawn to shiny surfaces as well as transparent objects, especially when the lighting brings them to life. I look for beauty in everyday objects that most people take for granted or just don’t truly see as they are. The seemingly boring and mundane subjects can truly be like magnets if portrayed in the right light. The shiny metal is one of those materials that can host endless visions….the light hits it and the reflections are captured on the smooth, sleek surface…people and animals especially the eyes…an artist’s dream! My future art plans are to paint the countless subjects I have chosen to become paintings and to share my art with as many people as I can.

Envelope

As an artist, I have chosen abstraction as my expressive language, pouring my creative energy into acrylic and mixed media works. My process is a constant evolution, fueled by an insatiable curiosity for all things textural, sculptural, and organic. Drawing and composition remain lifelong companions, informing my exploration of where art and science converge – a beautiful intersection I’m driven to understand.

Having called New England home for most of my artistic journey, the local landscapes and historical contexts have left an indelible mark on my work. At my core, I’m fascinated by the human spirit’s longing for authenticity and what transpires when that authenticity eludes us. While immersed in the act of creation, I often find myself pondering our spiritual kinships as a species.

Art has been my constant companion from the earliest days, though my path was dramatically reshaped when I suffered a traumatic brain injury as a young mother. The long road to recovery required relearning the most fundamental skills – speaking, writing, walking – while simultaneously caring for my two young children. This arduous period necessarily put my professional art practice on indefinite hold for decades. Yet now, having regained my full faculties, I view this experience as a profound “gift” that has enriched my perspective on the world and the human condition.

With a BA in Visual Arts and Art History, complemented by an advanced degree in Art Education, my passion for creative expression has taken me across the globe. From the ancient wonders of Greece and Italy to the artistic meccas of France, I’ve immersed myself in studying art’s vast histories and philosophies. My work has garnered attention in print and television spheres, with critics lauding my abstract ocean-colored paintings as a pioneering new movement.

Through my art, I strive to capture the essence of the natural world while exploring the depths of the human psyche. It is a lifelong endeavor, one that continually reveals new insights into the wonders that surround us.

I am an abstract painter based in Kittery, Maine. My work explores themes of authenticity, spirituality, and humanity’s connection to nature through expressive brushwork and an intuitive painting process. By abstracting elements from the New England landscape that inspire me, I aim to create works that are emotionally resonant and evoke a sense of the sublime.

My process is very organic and in the moment. I build up layers of paint, scraping some areas away while allowing others to remain, creating a dynamic surface with depth and movement. Paint is allowed to drip, flow, and merge in unplanned ways. This spontaneous method taps into my subconscious and unlocks personal symbology from my own psyche and emotions.

Ultimately, my goal is to communicate universal truths about the human condition and our spiritual relationship to the natural world. My paintings serve as a gateway for viewers to access their own introspection and find their own personal meaning within abstract forms and gestures.

Errera Channel

Mital Patel is a fine art photographer whose work explores the relationship between form, minimalism, and emotional presence in natural environments. His imagery often focuses on isolating subjects within vast landscapes, using light, scale, and restraint to create a sense of stillness and contemplation.

Working across wildlife and remote environments, Patel’s recent work has shifted toward more minimal and conceptual interpretations of nature, where composition and tonal control play a central role.
His work has been exhibited and recognized internationally, with a growing focus on fine art presentation and gallery-based storytelling.

Ice exists in a narrow spectrum of tone, where color is restrained, and form becomes the primary language. In this body of work, I explore the Arctic as a study in subtle variation shifts in light, texture, and scale within a limited palette.

Each image isolates a different presence: dominance, stillness, and quiet transience. The restrained blues and greys are not just aesthetic choices, but a way to remove distraction and focus attention on structure and atmosphere.

By working within a singular color space, the landscape becomes less about place and more about perception, where form, silence, and scale begin to dissolve into something introspective.

Escape From The Allegory Of The Cave

Leombruni is a Connecticut-based painter whose work explores the emotional and psychological dimensions of human experience through a lens of expressive realism. Janet Leombruni is President Emeritus of CT Women Artists. She is an Elected Member of the CT Academy of Fine Art, New Haven Paint &Clay, West Hartford Art League, and her work is part of multiple collections in the US and Europe.

Her work is currently in the Hillstead Museum, Farmington, CT.

In my work, I tell the stories of my experiences in the classroom. I also explore relationships, sometimes utilizing tropes or idioms in the form of children’s literature, myths, films, or portray stories as told to me by my students. I like to examine themes of hope, impulsivity, family, fantasy, innocence, and coming of age. My colors are powerful. Figures often occupy charged, ambiguous spaces, where gesture, symbolism, and narrative intersect to reveal underlying tensions between individuals and their environments. I seek to draw the viewer in, to elicit an emotional response. I like to ask the viewer to determine: What is really going on here?

Estate Tales 1

Sylvia Bandyke, Royal Oak, MI, USA, is largely a self-taught photographer, having taken studio and art history classes in college. She began her art career by displaying photo collages in ArtPrize, an independent international art competition in Grand Rapids, MI, from 2014 to 2018. Subsequently, she has been juried into more than 100 group exhibitions in 24 states and accepted into numerous online international exhibitions. An awarded artist, she keeps an eye open for interesting views of a subject while looking for hidden beauty every day. Most recently, she was a caregiver to her elderly mother and was able to create some memorable, unique art as a result of this experience.

I prefer using the collage format to integrate associated images into a cohesive unit that is even more compelling because of the embedded story. Having been a playwright and technical writer, I am accustomed to delivering content with a message. So now, as a visual communicator, I continue to provide meaning via the structure of the collage format, wherein the four photos confirm, augment, or even contradict each other if warranted. I enjoy offering the richness that the multiplicity of images provides, along with the impact gained through thoughtful positioning of them. Ultimately, I intend to have my work act as a doorway to the viewer’s own mental and emotional framework regarding the collection of images, perhaps finding their own very personal meaning in them.

I started painting after a career crisis in 2020. I was working as a healthcare professional and went through burnout, which led me to switch my career to business and finance. During the crisis, I needed something to let go of and process my feelings so I registered for a painting course. I just fell in love with making art! I love that I can do something with my hands, work with beautiful bold colors and express myself. Art saved me.

I create artwork that is meant to be a moment of inspiration and joy. My process is intuitive, I start by using bold colors and let my feelings guide me from there. I love the colors magenta and turquoise, and metallic paints. Bright and beautiful colors make me happy. My way of using contrasting details and multiple layers add texture that is unique to my artwork. With my artwork, I want to convey the message that we all need to love ourselves, take care of ourselves, and appreciate life! Everything happens for a reason and we should just travel within life`s current and trust. I want to bring beauty into homes and remind us of our own strength and the importance of love and gratefulness.

I paint with acrylic colors and my process is very intuitive and spiritual. My inspiration arises from many sources and strong colors are a big part of it. While painting, I let myself go and just paint without thinking too much and let the colors and my feelings guide me. I like to play with contrast and duality, texture, and add details to my artwork.

Lindsey McTavish is a Toronto-born artist, currently living and working in The beautiful mountain town of Nelson British Columbia, Canada. Designer, mother, artist & entrepreneur, she is inspired by color & texture, the Canadian landscape, the diversity of the female form & her surrounding environment. Having studied Fibre Arts for 3 years at The Kootenay School of The Arts in Nelson, B.C, followed by 2 years at the Academy of Design in Toronto where she graduated from the Fashion Design program, Lindsey has made a successful career of selling her line of Clothing & Handbags under the namesake label of Lindsey M Collections and is also one of the proud owners of the CRAFT CONNECTION GALLERY in Nelson B.C.

The Gallery is owned and operated by a small group of dynamic female artists & designers, who carefully curate & display an excellent collection of works from over 200 artists and craftspeople from across the country.

You can find Lindsey’s work there year-round, and in other various shows & exhibits throughout the year In Canada as well as in many other International & online exhibits year round.

The following pieces are made by hand felting then quilting (with an industrial sewing machine), un-spun sheep’s wool & silk, Some of the more detailed subjects are needle felted first, and then laid on the background and wet felted together to bind and join the components together.

Wet felting is the process of manipulating sheep’s wool with soap and water and layers until the fibers bind together and become a non-woven “fabric”.

Because of its durability, felting has been used to make many functional items throughout history, such as yurts that are lived in by nomadic Mongolians, rugs, jackets, slippers, hats, etc…

As for my use of it, I am creating 2 dimensional, ”felted tapestries”. In my work, you’ll often see painterly-like scenes that I refer to as Feltscapes – landscapes & scenes that are reminiscent of works by members of the Group of Seven, although I’m also often inspired to work on other subjects that I find myself interested in, such as people, birds, animals, florals & abstracts.

Everybody Loves Somebody

Adriana Azevedo was born in 1970 in Natal, Brazil. During the Covid pandemic lockdown, she’s unleashed her artistic passion and embraced it. As an immigrant artist based in Florida, her unique Brazilian perspective and cultural background inspire her creative expression.

She worked as an architect in Brazil for 2 decades before moving to the United States. She is proud and honored to contribute to the vibrant and diverse artistic community in the Orlando area.

I find my deepest inspiration in the fascinating worlds of Cubism and Surrealism. These influential movements have ignited my creative spirit, guiding me to explore the intricate interplay between reality and imagination on canvas.

My work is a reflection of the multifaceted nature of existence. Through the lens of Cubism, I deconstruct the ordinary, breaking down conventional forms into a tapestry of geometric shapes and angles. This allows me to unveil new dimensions within the familiar, encouraging viewers to contemplate the essence of what they see.
