Essence Of The Sublime
Gail Gelburd is a writer about art and someone who creates art. Her works cross the boundaries of disciplines to focus on the intersection of art, social issues, and spirituality. Her work has been included in exhibitions and private collections in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Brooklyn, Colorado, Vermont, Skopelos Greece, Melbourne Australia, and Goa India. She has been reviewed and interviewed in print, online, social media, radio, and television. She was included in the Art of the Hills exhibition at the Berkshire Museum and had a major presence at the Becket Art Center with more than 20 works of art. She has been featured on the cover of The Artful Mind Magazine. She was interviewed on CTSB TV and is featured in INK magazine. Her art installation, Color Your World traveled to four museum venues. Her images of floods and water have been exhibited in galleries and museums, and she was commissioned for a 50-foot atrium space. Her work on the Tsunami in Japan and the earthquake in Nepal was featured in a solo exhibition at MS 17 in New London Ct. Last year she was included in more than 10 exhibitions and will be awarded a solo exhibition through Exhibizone in February 2024. She will also have a solo exhibition at Gallery on Main in West Stockbridge MA in July 2024.
My art seeks to engage the viewer; to see that we are the river, the trees, and the sea or a ferocious waterfall. We are all connected, like the roots of trees, the stream of water, we grow together, we live together, and die together. My art layers the trees and waterfalls, streams, and sunlight with the human spirit and form so that we might appreciate this interconnectedness. We need to seek balance and unity with Mother Earth. My process is as layered as my concept. Using archival digital photographs, encaustic paints, and sometimes molded fabric, my images are of humanity and nature as one. They become relief sculptures, hanging scrolls, or life-sized fully three-dimensional figures. All of the images are encased in wax; forever preserved or mummified. The wax sometimes explodes to echo the power of nature or can fade the image itself into a face or a bodily form. They unveil the power of nature and humble us, as we bow to our fragility.

Eternal
Hasna Sal, an artist, and poet, is an architect by profession. A US citizen, Hasna relocated to Kansas in 2020 where she worked as an architect and taught design studio at the University of Kansas. With four years of art studies in England and Wales and her five-year NAAB-accredited professional degree program in architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Hasna credits her post-graduate work in landscape architecture from Harvard with the foundation of her glass installations. Hasna’s glasswork encompasses casting, kiln-formed glass, fritography, and torchworking.
In 2021 her installations ‘Utopia’ and ‘Maples’ were selected by the International Biennale Foundation for Larnaca, Cyprus. She won 1% in an art competition for permanent installation on the concourse wall at Kansas City International Airport. She received a grant from the North-East Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for an installation in Independence Plaza Park, Kansas City, MO.
Hasna absorbs her surroundings through phenomenological engagements with wind, water, earth, and sun, which give her freedom from the conundrums of life. Her work encompasses these spatial encounters, articulating texture, form, light, and color. She narratively materializes particular instances through vignettes of painted glass panels and their relationships to one another. The initiation process begins in her studio in Overland Park, KS with sketches and maquette. She explores recurring ideas, dialogues, and places of engagement, creating multiple iterations of complex visual connections that challenge dimensionality, depth, and complexity. Then these solutions are presented in a symphony of color and light so viewers can internalize, and contemplate the significance and origination.
Hasna is an architect by training. She credits her post-graduate studies from Harvard in landscape architecture for her current work in sculpture; work that translates her observations and study of nature through glass forms encompasses casting, sgraffito glass painting, kiln-formed glass, fritography, torchworking, etc.
Hasna’s works are narrative, depicting community engagement and socio-cultural inclusion. These interpretations express and share journeys of past and present and are universal stories of love, joy, hope, sorrow, and discovery. In her sculptures, she concentrates on creative placemaking through the narrative of both color and light citing the phenomenological responses to layers of filtered light and shadow in the environment to convey her artivism. As an artist and poet, she identifies herself as the raconteur; bringing to light stories that celebrate the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Hasna believes art must step beyond the liminalities of aesthetics and transcend into the realm of humanity, resolve world issues, have a voice that resonates loud and clear across boundaries, and fledge the wings of change.
Eternal Camaraderie
Hailing from the lively landscapes of Goa, India, Divya’s creative journey commenced in the embrace of her grandmother during childhood. Despite her love for art, life led her to follow more traditional career paths which included spending 6 years in Los Angeles and New York City studying Engineering and Management and subsequently led her to Mumbai to work in Finance. However, she couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was missing, and after some soul searching, she found her way back to art during the pandemic.
Today, as a professional artist in Goa, she uses vivid colors and bold brushwork to express her innermost thoughts and emotions. Her art often focuses on abstracts and abstract figures, capturing the diverse spectrum of human emotions in daily life. Influenced by the richness of the culture and natural beauty of Goa, her work radiates the vibrant energy that characterizes the region.
Divya’s art invites people to explore emotions and human experiences through their creations. It’s not just a testament to self-discovery but also a vivid example of a transformative journey. The artist’s path has evolved from the structured world of civil engineering and finance to the vibrant, passionate life of an artist, ready to share her unique vision with the world.
Through my artwork, I give form to my innermost thoughts and emotions. Using intense colors and strokes, I choose to focus on abstracts and abstract figures to capture human emotions in everyday observations.

Eternal City: Blizzard
Prof. Galina V. Volkova is a multidisciplinary artist and mathematician who resides in No. California, USA. Her dual gifts comprised a passion for Fine Arts and Science. She graduated with an M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from the School of Mathematics at Kharkov University and completed doctoral studies in Foundations of Mathematics (Axiom of Choice by Ernst Zermelo and Continuum Hypothesis). During her student years, she participated in the Exchange Abroad Program at Halle University, Halle-Saale, Wittenberg in Germany. She worked at the Space Science Laboratory, Radio-Physics Department of Kharkov University and Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley, and the Office of the President of the University of California. Currently, she is teaching various courses in Mathematics, Computer Sciences, and Fine Arts at university and/or high school level.
She had been exposed to Fine Art since her childhood at the Museum of Fine Arts in her hometown, inherited drawing skills from her father, studied techniques from various Russian and American artists, and got a formal education in Art in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2014, she has been an exhibiting artist at the Pleasanton Art League (Museum-on-Main and Harrington Art Gallery in Pleasanton and Aspen Art Gallery in Walnut Creek, California), Livermore Art Association, Fremont Art Association, and Tehama County Arts Council (Main Event Gallery and TCAC Gallery and ArtWalk Festivals in Red Bluff, California). In 2022-2023, she completed the online Artist-in-Residence Program ‘Artist on Standby’ at Belgrade Art Studio, Belgrade, Serbia. In 2023, her mixed media painting titled “Bon Voyage” was selected for the “Love-2023” Art Exhibit by biafarin.com Toronto, Canada. Since 2017, her Art Studio has been established in Red Bluff, No. California. Her paintings can be found at the G7 Art Studio (No. California) and in private collections nationwide in Western Europe.
My art is based on the trilateral unity of the concepts of hope, harmony, and humanity as a spiritual foundation of art. Hope is the necessary condition for any creation to belong to the category of art. Harmony is a balance of the artist’s inspiration and materialized on canvas as a result of effort. Humanity reflects on our eternal search for the truth and healing through improvement. Art in all its manifestations should serve the self-knowledge of man’s purpose, as I believe, and implement it as a credo in my artwork.

Ki Nichole, owner of KNichole Designs LLC, is a skilled multi-media artist born and raised in Long Island, New York. Ki was introduced to her love of art in her first year of high school by way of graphic design. While diving into her artistry head first, Ki instantly declared her interest in a college major in Digital Art and Design and worked diligently towards creating an advanced placement portfolio. After high school, Ki attended and graduated from Long Island University C.W. Post campus with a B.F.A in Digital Art and Design and shortly after received her M.S in Art Education.
Ki made a lifelong commitment to fulfilling her passion for all things art. She has an affinity for street art, pop art, surrealism, and contemporary within the black culture. When creating, Ki finds the most inspiration when utilizing her personal experiences, spirituality, and learning about herself as her own muse. She has been providing services to corporate companies, music producers, musicians, art enthusiasts, and educational sectors. Her artistry explores great creativity not limited to logos, cover art, sculptures, and fine art compositions.
KNichole Designs LLC has participated in multiple exhibitions and publications ranging from popular locations such as New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, Georgia, and The United Kingdom. Along with these prominent displays she has also been granted various in-show and achievement of excellence awards.
I aspire to create art for seasoned deep thinkers, outliers, and young dreamers of our generation. My vision for art is to be the visual voice of the silent heart and the unspoken mind for everyone. As my passion and purpose consistently develop, I stand firm for everything that art stands for. Our freedom of expression, visual creation, and imagination mean nothing if we keep it bottled up within us. Allow my work to serve as a self-portrait; not your typical visual representation of your physical attributes, but a true and candid depiction of your subconscious mind. As my work evolves within the process, allow it to openly rebirth a sense of transformation, peace, healing, and liberation through spirituality.
Ethereal Luminescence 68012
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Peter grew up in a family of painters and photographers. He has a AA degree in graphic design from New York State College, and a BFA degree in photography from the Art Center College of Design in California.
After returning to New York, Peter worked for three independent studios that included photography for GM, Singer, N. Y. Port Authority, Time, and Fortune. This work led to positions at International Nickel in New York City and Bethlehem Steel in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. With co-author and writer, Bette Kovach, he published Inside Bethlehem Steel: The Final Quarter Century in 2008. Recently, the Library of Congress acquired 17 of these steel book images.
After publishing his book, Peter turned his focus to shooting and exhibiting “Ethereal Luminescence”, in-camera abstract expressionistic photographs. Peter currently lives in Lewes, Delaware, and is active in the Rehoboth Art League, The Delaware Contemporary, and the Maryland Federation of Art.
Ethereal Luminescence is an ongoing series of abstract, expressionistic photographs that I originally created at a light show and continue to capture at fireworks shows, urban street scenes, and amusement parks. Through abstraction, and with a symphonic explosion of color, light, and motion my photographs illustrate the drama and excitement of the vibrant and colorful public places that we all enjoy so much.

Jacquie was introduced to art at a young age and found herself doodling more in school than anything else. Although she has gone on to achieve an executive career in Human Resources to support her family, she always maintained an art business. well. Art has always been a driving force and a happy place throughout her life.
When she became a mother, it became even more important for her to push more toward her true passions. At that point, she dedicated more focused time to learning and sharing her gifts in the arts.
I have been on a constant and steady journey to find who I am as an artist. I am comfortable not having all of the answers but knowing what is important to me in my art.
My art, like my life, has always been whimsical, playful, and bright. I live in a land of bright colors, sparkles, textures, and joy, and my art reflects this.
I am inspired and influenced by so many amazing artists and my desire to learn and grow has and will never stop. My scenes and topics change like the seasons, but my core always remains the same. Endless curiosity has led me to sketch, paint, sculpt, bead, metal arts, felting, resin, sew, graphic design, and animation… you name it; I have tried it.
I am not tied to one genre, nor do I want to be. I embrace it all.

Most recently, I published a children’s book called, “Lizzy & Snart – The Adventures of the Magical Potion”. I wrote and illustrated this book, and it was a lifelong dream for me to accomplish this. I am looking forward to writing more.
Currently, I live in a country setting with my husband and daughter, in a lovely home with beautiful English gardens and fluffy animals.
