Phil Dynan is an American painter and sculptor who has exhibited his works throughout the United States, Holland, Japan, France, and the United Kingdom. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has experimented with varying styles and mediums. Having mainly used serigraphy and acrylics in his art, he now paints using water-based oils, which facilitates blending.
Currently, he is working with partner, Anastasia Nelson, in oil and acrylic on mixed media sculptures. The sculptures are generally made from birch wood, but he also creates his own plaster sculptures. The sculptures require dozens of unique bevels (angles) and are an important part of the presentation that is interactive with the viewer.
Migration is one of the most pressing issues of our times. My own family came to America as immigrants. Later I lived and worked in North Africa and became attached to the culture there. This painting reveals the challenges, sorrows, and hopeful journeys that immigrants make leaving Africa for Europe. There are many reasons for migration – poverty, work, study, family, and asylum. In this piece the people are seeking asylum and undertaking a journey that starts on foot, involves a sea voyage on a dodgy boat, and an eventual meetup in Trafalgar Square. The painting is a triptych, each piece is 24×24 inches.
Mikrokosmos
Anton Small, born in 1982 in Frankfurt am Main, is a surrealist painter known for his detailed and unique works. His primary mediums are gouache and oil on canvas. Largely self-taught, Anton enhanced his skills through courses in Frankfurt and at the Kunsthaus Oggersheim and Wilhelm-Hack-Museum. Besides painting, he has worked as a software developer since 2007. Since 2019, Anton has participated in numerous exhibitions and competitions, such as the International Contest of Contemporary Art YICCA and the Berliner BBA Gallery competitions. His work has been showcased in various galleries and festivals both in Germany and internationally.
“How did you get into my dream last night?”
I am a contemporary surrealist painter driven by a curiosity for the peculiar and the strange. My art is my voice, my alternate language, where each brushstroke and each hue conveys emotions and concepts that often elude verbal expression. Working primarily in oil on canvas and gouache on paper, my pieces are the manifestations of an unfiltered exploration of the subconscious. I do not compromise on the subjects I choose to depict; they are reflections of my inner world, vivid and unrestrained, creating a seamless transition between abstraction and illusionism. This is central to my belief that there are no clear borders between genres, only fluid passages that connect them. My creative process is deeply influenced by a sense of otherness, much like the works of Francis Bacon, Kay Sage, and Yves Tanguy. My paintings often come to life in small sessions spread over several days, mostly during the late evening and into the night. The late hours are a strong base for my imagination, a time when the boundaries between reality and dreams blur, and the subconscious rises to the surface. In my studio, the canvas becomes a portal to alternate realities. Here, I channel the emotions, dreams, and fleeting thoughts that traverse my mind. Each painting is a narrative, a fragment of a larger story that seeks to engage and challenge the viewer. I strive to create a dialogue through my art, inviting observers to step into my dreams, to question, and to find their own meanings within the layers of color and form. My work is an invitation to explore the hidden realms, to embrace the ambiguity and the beauty of the bizarre.
I understand my art as a testament to the endless possibilities of the imagination. It is a celebration of the strange and the unfamiliar, a journey into the depths of the subconscious. Xinyi Li, graduated from Pratt Institute, majoring in Jewelry Design and minoring in Art History. She was born in Gansu, China, and currently lives and works in New York. Her work is inspired by nature and art, as well as Chinese traditional culture. Xinyi was featured in the NYCJW Exhibition “HERE & NOW”, and the Adornaxis Exhibition “Matter of Form”, and won the “Distinguished Teacher Award” Medal Design Competition awarded by Pratt Institute.
Human history is formed by the analysis and transformation of nature through the sensual activity of man. In fact, the history of man is also the history of nature, which is formed by taking nature as the material premise. In Hobbesian Equality, Thomas Hobbes proposed “The Whole Nature of Man”, which indicates that we come from nature and follow the influence that nature brings to us. Nature is prior and provides the material basis for the creation of human history, and this has led to the development of human civilization in the shadow of nature.
I combine in my work an integral part of the development of human civilization with the treasures of nature, that is, flowers and art, thus expressing the close connection between nature and history. I use copper sheets and different forming techniques to create the flower shape. Each flower is accompanied by a single petal which can be worn as a brooch

Wendy Liz is a versatile artist who loves to paint. She was inspired by her sister, who was an artist and had her own gallery in Nashville, TN. Wendy resides in Sarasota, FL. She enjoys painting realism, abstracts, and other types of art; however, she is especially fond of painting fun and expressive animals, which she calls Krazy Kolorful Kreatures.
Wendy studied art at the Ringling College of Art and Design. She also studied painting with Lois Carson at Suncoast Technical College (formerly Sarasota County Technical Institute), and later with Sarasota artist and teacher, Bill Jerdon. She began working in acrylic but soon developed a love for oil, which became her favorite medium.
Wendy has painted various commissioned works that are exhibited in homes around the country. She welcomes commissions, which have included realistic portraits as well as large abstracts that cover entire walls. Her original art is available; however, giclees and prints are also available as a more affordable option. Giclees are fine art prints on canvas, and prints are fine art prints on high-quality paper—both using the latest technology printing techniques.
Wendy’s creative ideas for art are based on her experiences with the people and places she encounters throughout her life including children, grandchildren, family, and friends, as well as destinations and new adventures.
When I began painting, I looked at the world in a different context. I studied faces, children, animals, trees, grass, flowers, and even water differently than I once did. Being able to communicate on canvas, as I do, is a wonderful creative outlet. There are so many beautiful things around me in everyday life to portray to the world as I see them. Whether it’s a portrait, realism, animals, or an abstract, I strive to express my feelings, energy, and emotions.

In his self-taught practice, Zach Therrien has explored perception and subjectivity through different materials and mediums. He began painting in 2021 to help cope with isolation and diminishing mental health. His work illustrates the creativity of shapes used abstractly as parts of the human body, highlighting personal interpretations of everyday life. He recently began experimenting with his perception of objects and forms found outside of humans and social interactions. Zach labels himself as a Contemporary Neo-Expressionism artist but remains free of stylistic constraints.
The lack of subjective expressions in everyday life is my inspiration for creating. I view the world differently and have the desire to illustrate that perspective.
Mental health and its impact are at the forefront of my pieces. Through various mediums, I convey thoughts, emotions, and stories that I otherwise can’t.
My creations range from traditional acrylic on canvas to numerous mediums on wood, cardboard, clothing, etc. I started creating in early 2021.

Mixing the mundane with the magical unreal is at the heart of every one of my works. Organic, floating forms permeate many of my creations, providing a sense of whimsical serenity. I enjoy using collage as a medium due to its synergistic nature; remixing the best elements from a variety of sources to forge something greater than the sum of its parts. My work is a glimpse into how I view the world, looking through it as if through shattered stained glass. It’s a kaleidoscope of color and form, with content Blackness at the center of it all. The tale I focus on telling is clear: we are not just our struggles and pain, but our weird and wonderful perspectives too.

Petra Stelling is a self-taught German artist born in 1968. Her story resonates with the transformative power of artistic expression. Living in Neumünster, Schleswig-Holstein, she initially pursued social work, a path chosen due to familial circumstances. Despite this divergence, her inherent passion for art remained undiminished. This dedication to art was not just a professional choice but a personal one, as it offered a means to navigate and reshape the contours of her life. Stelling’s creative journey, marked by a transition from a structured life to one of artistic freedom, illustrates the profound impact of the environment on an artist’s work. In 2003 she had her first solo exhibition at a local gallery-restaurant. This event marked the beginning of a series of group and solo exhibitions, culminating in her expanding her reach to digital exhibitions, including one in Miami in 2023.

The colorful life with all its challenges, the dark and beautiful sides, excites and inspires me as a versatile artist. I mainly use acrylic paints, gouache, and oil pastels. Materials such as coffee, glitter, or fabric scraps also find their way into my works of art. I paint with brushes, spatulas, sponges, or directly with my hands. In the painting process, I compose with structure and color, which is applied in several layers. By adding, blotting, scratching, or scraping off, exciting effects, rough surfaces, and unique color tones are created. Shadows, cracks, and lines that are reminiscent of scars and traces of life. My painting is lively, multifaceted, and expressive – each piece is a journey through the complexities of human experience.

Cher Pruys was born in Regina. Over the years she lived in many places including Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Fort Frances, settling into her present home in Devlin, on the banks of the Rainy River with her husband Mark, and pets.
By age three, Cher was seldom found without a drawing tool in hand. She worked in pencil, charcoal, and ink over the years, picking up a paintbrush at the age of 35. Beginning with oil paints, she found her chosen mediums in acrylic, watercolor, and gouache, and her passion for hyperrealism.
Although self-taught, her dedication and talent have seen her work juried into 697 International exhibits. She has won 1066 awards for her work in the International Juried Exhibits.
