Jacquie was introduced to art at a young age and found herself doodling more in school than anything else. Although she has gone on to achieve an executive career in Human Resources to support her family, she always maintained an art business. well. Art has always been a driving force and a happy place throughout her life.

When she became a mother, it became even more important for her to push more toward her true passions. At that point, she dedicated more focused time to learning and sharing her gifts in the arts.

Glimps Of Blossoms

Born in Calcutta, India, Dr. Indrani Choudhury was a biomedical research scientist for 25 years, in the USA and India. She moved to New Jersey two decades ago, raised a family, and worked as a biomedical scientist for many years at UMDNJ. Yet her life was incomplete. In 2006, she set up an easel in her guest room and returned to her childhood passion: she began painting full-time.

Entirely self-taught, Indrani works solely in watercolors, transforming the medium beyond its typical constraints to produce the texture and richness of acrylics and oils. Her paintings span her whole universe, from her local supermarket in New Jersey, to her childhood home in Calcutta, to scenes from travels around the world. In each, she tries to express something specific – a particular color, the interplay of light and shade, a moment we see but never notice, or a memory she has carried since her childhood. She paints to communicate the way she sees the world.

Since 2008, Indrani’s paintings have been exhibited at over a dozen juried art shows and galleries throughout New Jersey. In her second avatar as an artist, Dr. Indrani Choudhury is an inspiration to all those who dream of doing what they truly love. Her works are an affirmation of the power of dreams, long deferred and finally fulfilled.

Glinda Arriving

I was born in Poughkeepsie, NY. I began my adult art journey at The Beverly Hills Adult Education Center, where I studied figure sculpting. From there, I moved on to The Brentwood Art Center in Santa Monica. Then, The Jayne Behman’s Art Center.. My watercolors were mostly inspired by high-fashion photographs of celebrities and models. This is where my love of bold, bright, joyous colors was born. I moved to NYC for 4 years and studied at The 92nd Street Y. I then studied glass mosaic art. There, I created a unique style in just my first piece. I added a relief-style dimension to my mosaics, which is rarely seen in the medium. I switched from glass to paper art. The Paper art is done either in 2 dimensions or 3. Some of the works are raised off the surface and are then box-framed. I have been awarded ribbons for my work at The Off Track Gallery in Encinitas and the Carlsbad Oceanside Art League in Carlsbad Village. My work has also been featured at The Escondido Arts Partnership, Art on 30th Street, The Visions Museum of Textile Art at Liberty Station, HMVC Gallery in NYC, KBM Gallery in LA, Art Scene West in San Diego, and The Dragon and Butterfly Gallery in LA. My works have appeared at the San Diego County Fair Fine Arts Show. In addition to my love of creating for myself, I teach many crafting and art classes. They include: Holiday Craft projects, Paper Collage Classes, Gourd Painting, Handbag Design, Hand Painted Glass, Stenciling, Paper Flower Classes, Stained glass on glass design, Decoupage on glass and paper mache, and Acrylic and Decoupage classes.

Glorious Life

Cathryn Baerwald lives on her farm in the Snoqualmie Valley near Seattle, Washington. Awakening to the beauty that surrounded her, Cathryn immersed herself in art. She began with art classes at Pratt Fine Arts and Kirkland Arts Center, studying with John Avendaño, Larry Chalkins, and Fatima Jamil whose artistic expression has inspired her. Along with showcasing her work in galleries, publications, and online, her artwork is also featured in a public installation in Kent, WA, and has been displayed several times in New York’s Times Square.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Derrick’s passion for Photography started when he was in high school but he took it more seriously in college when he enrolled in a digital photography class it opened his eyes to photography even more, and he hasn’t looked back since. He purchased his first camera during that time period and later started using his iPod as another camera source to take pictures just because it’s easy, convenient, and with the increase of technology with camera usage. There are no limitations to being creative.

A Tennessee-born life-long resident of Rock County, Wisconsin, Judy Hatlen is a realist artist specializing in nature, wildlife, rural scenes, and genre art. Her detailed, vibrant paintings and drawings pay homage to her rural background and love of the outdoors. Especially evident in her work is her emphasis on detail, inviting the viewer to stop, observe, and ponder. It is most important to her that her art enhances the well-being of the viewer. The comment she hears most often about her art is “It gives me a sense of peace.

Hatlen’s interest in art was ignited when her mother showed her how to draw stick figures at the age of three. She found she could tell stories by drawing the figures in various positions and adding facial expressions, and other components. From that time, art was her main interest.

Hatlen graduated from UW Whitewater in 1977 with a BSE in Art Education, and taught art in both private and public schools, before retiring in 2017 to pursue art.

Most recently, Manhattan Arts International selected Ms. Hatlen’s painting, “German Iris”, for the HerStory 2023 Exhibition.
Her painting, “Tiger Swallowtail in a Butterfly Bush” was selected for “The Healing Power of Art inspired by Nature” 2023 online exhibition.
In 2022, she received an award in the Wisconsin Regional Artist Program for her painting, “Spotted Knapweed on Lake Superior.”
Her art appears in many private collections, and in 2022, an art gallery in York, PA purchased one of her paintings. She is a regular participant in Janesville Art League exhibits, the Tallman House Art Fair, and Milton House Arts and Crafts on the Lawn. In keeping with her passion for art in healthcare settings, her art has been exhibited in several healthcare facilities in Southern Wisconsin.

Gnome On A Limb

Marjorie Moskowitz, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, holds a B.S. in Business, a B.F.A., and an M.F.A. in Painting from Washington University in St. Louis. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She has been represented by galleries in the Midwest, the East, and the West Coast. Her work has been widely collected and is part of many private and public collections. She currently lives in and maintains her studio in Southern California.

Katrina is a Professional Artist specializing in Acrylic Paintings with more than 25 years of experience, she also illustrated several children’s books.

Katrina comes from an artist family of several generations and to become an artist was pretty easy for her as colors, brushes, and canvases followed her all the way around since early childhood.

Participating in exhibitions since sweet sixteen, won several awards, the most important of which was the opportunity to spend some time in Vienna City, Austria where she discovered F. Hundertwasser’s art which really inspired her. Other inspiring names in art she can name are Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, and Pablo Picasso.

For the last eighteen years, Katrina has lived in Leeds City, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The beautiful scenery of Yorkshire widens her creativity, here is some kind of mix of different natures, like Italy, France, Spain, and Latvia all in one.

In her paintings, Katrina devotes much attention to the play of colors, line, and plot and the plot plays a special role. The paintings were created mainly during her travels. Each painting has its own story. It tells about the scenic mountains of Tuscany, the magic cathedrals of Italy. Perhaps, there are stories about Britain’s magical gardens or a cat that brings warmth and peace to the home. A woman waiting for the love of her lifetime…

Sherry is from the Midwest and began painting full-time after retiring to Florida.

She currently resides in SW Florida and enjoys painting contemporary abstracts. Being mostly self-taught she passionately paints in a unique way using lots of color and expressive movements! Her Native American ancestry is seen in many of her pieces with heavy texture, colorful paints, sharp lines, and marks which gives her art depth and expression. She paints in abstract form her feelings and experiences about life. She hopes her art encourages others to sense the beauty of life all around.

As an emerging new artist with unusual and unique talent, Sherry’s work is being sold worldwide and admired by peers and art lovers.
