Kate Marion Lapierre creates colorful abstract paintings and has sold her work locally and internationally through online galleries. Her paintings can be completely abstract or expressionist landscapes and florals. She is drawn to color, mood, and mark-making and is influenced by the seasons and nature. Formerly, Kate had been an illustrator, art educator, and art therapist and continues to draw on those experiences while enjoying the painting process.
I like to create at the moment in a very spontaneous way and consider myself an intuitive painter. I often paint without any preconceived plan. My goal is to have each viewer interact with the art and interpret it on a personal level. I love using color and movement as primary elements in my paintings and enjoy the varied responses they can bring to the art viewer.

Ronaldo Byrd was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is a Contemporary Hip “Pop” Artist who began painting at the tender age of 3. As an early teen, Byrd was accepted to and attended Art Instruction School, which boasts a graduate, Charles Schulz. He graduated and received a Diploma in Art from Art Instruction School at age 16. While enrolled in the course, Byrd was also attending The High School of Art and Design in New York City, before moving to Burlington, New Jersey. Byrd was then accepted to, and attended, Burlington County Institute of Technology, where he majored in, and received a Diploma in the field of Advertising Art and Design. He was then accepted to the Hussian School of Art. Byrd is mostly a self-taught Artist who has developed his own style of art and his own characters, which he puts in phenomenal scenes. He has shown his work in several galleries, including a solo show at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Byrd and his artwork have also been featured in several newspapers and magazines. One of which includes The Philadelphia Inquirer. He has also been a story on CBS 3 Eyewitness News. Byrd’s message to the world through his artwork is one of love and acceptance. His hope is to convey this as boldly and as beautifully as he can.

I was born and raised in NYC but mostly in The Bronx. I attended CCNY where I graduated with a BS in Mathematics and an MA in Mathematics Education. I taught high school mathematics in The Bronx. I have always been interested in the arts and started writing poems and playing guitar at age 19. I studied poetry under Professor Robert O’Clair. I studied guitar at The Guitar Workshop. I studied painting and drawing at SUNY in Purchase. Recently, I have had paintings and/or drawings in numerous online shows and paintings in 8 live group shows. I have had many poems published in literary magazines, in books, at HVMOCA, and self-published a children’s book, ”Mr. Fine Goes to the Eye Doctor”. My poem “Friends” was published (2022) at HVMOCA in written form and in audio in the “Writing Off the Walls” project. My principal artistic interest has been abstract painting and drawing for the last 10 years, but I have written many poems as well. I live in Putnam County, NY.
My work in fine arts has principally been in 2 classes of abstract paintings: oils and water-based paints. However, I have completed numerous works in the drawing. I focus on color, texture, methodology of delivery, and composition. In composition, I am interested in positive space and negative space as well. I believe the painting is a manifestation of my emotional state of both conscious and unconscious feelings.
The works I have submitted for this show are all abstracts on different levels. In their construction, they all employ the use of recycled paint in that the dried paint on the floor is reused. In a sense, an old painting is recycled in that it is completely painted over: Flowers 1.1.
Flowers Faires And Butterflys
I was born and raised in Fairfield, NJ. I am a self-taught artist and have been drawing and creating since I was little. I loved to read comic books and when I would draw, I would try to redraw my favorite cartoon characters. I studied Art and received an AS in Art at the County College of Morris in 1996. For years I kept my passion for art as a hobby, it was not until May of 2020 when the world was in lockdown that I was able to rekindle my love and passion for art and decided to pick up my pencil and paper again, as well as start exploring different mediums such as acrylic paintings. I have also had the rare opportunity to live my childhood dream of attending a school to learn how to do special effects in movies. In April of 2021, I received a grant to attend the School of Makeup Effects in Totowa NJ. There I was able to put my artistic talent to work in other ways, sculpting and creating creatures as well as other special effects.
My creative artwork includes such mediums as pencil, paint, clay, and even cakes. I believe my creativity cannot be limited to just one medium. I get my inspiration through fantasy, fiction, and imagination. Because with fantasy, fiction, and imagination there are no limitations, and no rules to follow.

I started painting to reveal my soul, aid in self-discovery, and color my world beyond imagination.
When I picked up a paintbrush for the first time and touched it to a blank canvas, paint exploded in a fantasy of color, forms, and textures – electric blue swirls at first, and then purples and reds. My use of color immediately became the foundation for my art. I quickly learned how color illustrates emotions and feelings.
As a contemporary artist, my portraits capture hidden pieces of the human experience, exposing parts that we regularly keep hidden. I paint animals to show how much we can learn from our furry friends while my landscapes explore the beauty of life. Abstract pieces allow me to express openness and creativity freely.
When I added a glass mosaic to my artistic repertoire, it gives me additional opportunities to express myself naturally. Mosaic artwork makes me feel connected to life. We can be these individual pieces that have a connection to one another through various grouted paths.
Painting and glass mosaic is not the only creative techniques I like to play with these days. Lately, I have been adding color to my artwork with oil pastels.
Creating art is an exuberant experience that gives me pleasure. I love finding the truth through artistic expression. The movement of paint or any form of art reveals our true nature, and, like many artists before me, I benefit from art’s healing powers.

I create visual escapes using palette knives and oil paints on canvas. Dynamic texture formed from an expressive impasto technique is characteristic of my work and allows for an amplified depth in each piece. Vivid color creates a unique energy that draws the observer into the painted space.
The use of palette knives opens the possibility of accidental forms and marks. I respond to those results, letting them guide the painting. The process continues over several layers, resulting in images that evoke both a sense of movement and tranquility.
Throughout my work, there is an appreciation for the transience of life and, concurrently, our boundless capacity for hope. Many describe my pieces as simultaneously vibrant and peaceful, a quality that stems from my deep faith in God and a three-year battle with leukemia as a teenager, which taught me to see the beauty in life regardless of circumstances. My work is inspired by nature, as I believe the splendor around us is one of the most amazing ways God touches us with His presence.
I endeavor to create work that speaks to our shared human experience, and I am deeply interested in the connection between art and healing. A universal language, art reaches people across boundaries, offers alternative perspectives and inspiration, and provides a visual break from daily stressors. Art can connect communities and promote physical, emotional, and mental healing.
Akin to my own experience with art’s healing abilities, my work aims to provide a visual refuge where viewers can escape, unload the burdens of their day, and be reminded of the joy, hope, and wonder all around them.

Bruce Sanders is an expressionist and abstract painter living in Malibu, California. Bruce’s work blurs the lines between representational and abstract art. It delves into a space between the real world and a mystical-magical realm. Bruce employs kinetic forms, dynamic colors, and primal emotions in all of his art. By doing so, his work compels viewers to empathize, analyze, and interpret their own feelings.

Pink is not a color I employ often in my work. I actually do not find the color pink to be “easy” to use. Some may consider “pink” to be a “safe” and “gentle” color…I do not. I think the color pink makes a bold statement reflecting “strong and passionate” primal emotion. I also find the color provides the emotional feeling I need on occasion to capture intimacy, warmth, sincerity, innocence, vulnerability, and fragility. My paintings are humble attempts to “look inward” and to capture a “feeling” or an emotion. I do this by using bold colors, heavy texture, and unrestrained line and form.
