I create art in a variety of media, including watercolor, pastels, photography, printmaking, pencil, and charcoal. I also write poetry, which has won awards and been published, and play a variety of musical instruments alone and in various ensembles. In addition, I have a strong background in science, math, and engineering. In whatever visual arts medium I work, nature is usually my subject, whether I am portraying a single flower or a landscape. Sometimes, I feel that focusing on details can increase my understanding of a subject. I do try to maintain a balance, however, between concentrating on minutia and retaining the overall, far-reaching view. I find that many subjects in nature can seem ephemeral, yet I feel that they possess a timeless constancy as well, and I attempt to communicate this. In my art, I like to explore how nature, imagination, literature, and science collaborate together to enrich our lives. My art focuses on the “Some will Love,” aspect of this exhibit.

As an emotional painter, she works with the inner world that is reflected in each of us. Her painting tells a story and conveys words that give a message. As an emotional creator playing with his thoughts, showing them proudly to the world, she combines visual and mental perception. The image is the total of all sensations, so it remains forever. She wants to merge everything into one. Forever.

Creating intuitively she most enjoys with a combination of acrylic paint, spatulas, and brushes, letting the music and thoughts come together on the canvas, where the unexpected becomes expected or surprising. Ideas after ideas assemble images like a puzzle. Sometimes the painting is accompanied by poetry or words that have found their own way, this is when the canvas speaks to her.

She is a human being, a creator who communicates a message through colors and words. She likes to explore everything in depth, working with inner feelings and looking for answers to questions. The forest is her oasis, here she finds her inner peace. It is where her inspiration awakens, her connection with nature, it is where she finds answers to her questions. Music helps to tune the energies and then she transfers them to the canvas, to be in harmony with her surroundings, to be at peace and content. She usually lets herself be carried away by the music, choosing colors intuitively.

I paint scenes from life that are comprised of bits and pieces of things that I see in my daily life. I can see one corner of a garden and then a single flower, and then combine them with other things to make an idealized garden.

My work evokes a great sense of nostalgia and the worlds I paint reflect my unique vision of idealized gardens and scenes from an earlier, simpler time. My paintings are brightly colored and joyful in nature. They are ideal for those who love the natural world and wish to be surrounded by its beauty.

Over the past 30 years I have collaborated on over 100 film projects as a Director of Photography. I have relied on the alchemy of sciences, history, and technical skills funneled through a lens to distill visual order out of the emotional narratives set before me.

As a mixed-media artist, I’m using the same creative alchemy to explore an even more intricate story I observe playing out on our natural stage. My work celebrates nature’s unbounded spaces by distilling the basic elements of line, color, and texture from the West Coast landscapes around me.

My intent is to capture the pondering presence we get from nature, not as it appears but as it feels to experience: incomprehensible, indescribable, and often very chaotic.

Unconventionally constructed with various colored fibers, metal foils, and glass tile, my painted canvases express the same underlying concept that I strive for as a cinematographer; Poetic narratives with kinetic energy.

My art is a reflection of my deep connection with nature, a bond that has been nurtured since childhood. As a self-taught artist, I have always found solace and inspiration in the natural world, where the delicate details of flowers and the vast, calming presence of the sea captivate me. As an artist, I find inspiration in fragments of nature held close for reflection. I employ a personal vocabulary of fluid marks and organic imagery to express the ephemeral quality of the natural world. Within this realm, my work varies from representational interplay between painting and drawing to flora and fauna and botanical interplay.

I tend to work in series in the exploration and development of a particular image. My subject matter includes botany fauna relationships and the impact human actions have on nature. Through attention to detail, I strive to communicate nature’s continuous beauty to viewers. My goal is to construct a sense of awe that nature presents and evokes the same emotion through my artwork.

In my paintings, flowers become more 3D-like plant architecture. The structure is made visible, and the flower petals that are stretched over the ribs or veins that give them their structure come to life. There is tension and freshness of a plant bursting with life in contrast to wilting and desiccation of individual parts of a flower. The cycle of birth, destruction, and rebirth is intertwined as an essential part of the forces of nature.

As a multi-disciplinary artist based in Florida. From a young age, I was inspired by my mother to explore the world of art and expression. My passion for art led me to open my own studio in 1982, where I was able to express myself through a variety of mediums.

In addition to my artistic pursuits, I was also a youth chess champion by the age of 10. Despite being diagnosed with Marfan’s Syndrome in my pre-teens and having many surgeries, this did not stop me from pursuing my passions.
