Sophia Wroblewski

Artist Bio

Sophia Wroblewski is a queer artist based in Albuquerque New Mexico. Sophia spent her first few years of life in the northern Maryland area. Sophia moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico at age 12 with her family and she is the youngest of four children. After completing high school Sophia was greatly encouraged to attend the Jesuit University of Regis in Denver, Colorado. However, after just one year she grew significantly homesick. She wanted to explore her art in a more familiar and comfortable setting, allowing her art and overall style to evolve and expand. To be in the place she so desired, Sophia moved right down the road from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, NM. Sophia is studying to get her BFA in Studio Art at the University of New Mexico and will achieve much in the winter of 2024. Sophia dabbles in many different mediums and likes to expand her skill across many different formats. Although, her primary focus is on traditional and digital drawing in the 2-D form all of her work has a geometric and abstract feel to them. She works and will continue to work and expand her compact designs and utilize them in larger and more grand works after the achievement of her bachelor's degree. The modern East Coast, feel, as well as the Southwest feel are evident within her works. Sophia uses the inspiration and mixture of the two cultures to help fuel the ideas that has experienced throughout her life to create her very complex layouts and subject matters.
