Tina Christiansen
Artist Bio
Artist Tina Christiansen is a registered Architect in California, she is an American painter who works in acrylics and watercolor. She also creates works of art on silk. Her style transcends realism to reveal something more than an image that is only a reflection of her subjects. She is as concerned with the attitude of a fish as its iridescence. Her seascapes capture the spirit of a moment in time. She paints the refraction and piercing brilliance of light above and below the surface of the sea. She studies the effects of various atmospheric phenomena. Her work is in private and public collections throughout the United States. She has been selected as an artist for public works of art in the cities of Coronado and San Diego, California. Her work has been selected for cover art for several publications.
She holds a master’s degree in architecture from VirginiaTech, and a Bachelor of Architecture and Environmental design degree from the University of Florida. She founded the Coronado Artist's Colony in 2015, when she owned and operated a gallery in Coronado to exhibit her work and that of other talented island artists. Her paintings are most often of the sea.
